Felt Sense (S3E6)

How are you right now? How are you really right now? Is it possible to go beyond the label, or concept, or construct of sadness or joy or busy and drop into the body? How does whatever you’re feeling manifest right now? Sensations are information! This meditation follows the thread of your experience back to an immediate awareness of what is felt in a moment. Over and over again.

Whatever posture you’re practicing in, invite your body to relax here and feel your connection to the ground or whatever is supporting you.

Drop in with the following question: How am I really, right now? You may be able to identify a clear emotion or energy like fatigue, sadness, joy, or it may be harder to find an exact word and so perhaps simply noticing: expansion or contraction.

Is it possible to go beyond the label, or concept, or construct of sadness or joy and drop into the body? How does what I’m feeling manifest right now? Notice sensations like contraction or expansion or numbness or tingling or warmth.

If turning toward an emotion or energy is too much at the moment, you might notice something like a sound or a thought and follow the sensations associated with that thing.

Even if the thought may be anchored in the future or past, can you identify how it’s manifesting in your body in this present moment?

Notice how whatever you’re feeling evolves and morphs. Or maybe tuning into one emotion has revealed another one. Keep following the thread and bringing your awareness back over and over and over again to this moment, not settling for labels or mental constructs.

In a moment, I’ll ring the bell. Try to tune into the felt sense of hearing.
